Biomes are large ecological areas that are distinguished by their flora and fauna, geological location and climate. The flora and fauna that are found in a specific biome have the ability to adapt to the environment around them and to interact with their living and non-living environment to ensure each species survival. Some species of flora and fauna can only be found in specific biomes as they have adapted to it and cannot survive in another type of biome because of factors like prey, predators and climate. A good example of a biome is the mangrove biome.
